Elon Musk predicts Austin, Texas, will be 'the biggest boomtown that America has seen in 50 years'

It's no secret that Tesla CEO Elon Musk is over California. 

Last summer, Musk chose Austin, Texas, as the spot for the $1 billion factory that would build the Cybertruck, the carmaker's long-awaited electric pickup truck. And in December, he confirmed rumors that he was picking up and moving from Los Angeles to the Lone Star State.

SpaceX Starlink opens preorders, but slots are limited in each region

SpaceX this week began accepting preorders for Starlink broadband, asking for $99 deposits for service that would be available in the second half of this year.

To start the process, you can go to Starlink's website and enter your email and service address. The overall cost is $499 for hardware, $50 for shipping and handling, and $99 for monthly service, plus tax. These are the same prices charged in the ongoing beta, which is limited to parts of the northern United States and southern Canada.

A new lens technology is primed to jumpstart phone cameras

The camera on the first iPhone way back in 2007 was a mere 2 megapixels. And it only had a rear camera; there wasn't even a front-facing selfie shooter. Today, you'll find multiple cameras on the front and back of phones—some of them with sensors as large as 108 megapixels, like the biggest camera on Samsung's Galaxy S21 Ultra.

Mass Over-The-Air Update Of Tesla Cars Captured On Video

Is this a Guinness record?

Here is something that most of us probably have never seen - an over-the-air update, applied to possibly hundreds of Tesla electric cars, all at the same time. During the process, cars have emergency lights on.

It seems that the video was recorded at some logistic center where Tesla had a while to update the software of newly produced cars (probably mostly Model 3), before releasing the fleet to customer deliveries.

A new SpaceX filing outlines plans for Starlink to offer phone service, emergency backup for voice calls, and cheaper plans for people with low incomes through the government's Lifeline program.

The incoming head of the Senate antitrust subcommittee Senator Amy Klobuchar, plans to introduce a new antitrust bill that would place limits on acquisitions by large tech platforms. If the bill became law here’s it would shift the burden of proof on to companies with more than 50 percent market share.

Independent publishers thrive in China on platforms like WeChat and Toutiao. Chinese TV shows and movies are often made based on successful web novels. In China self-publishers are referred to as “We Media” both a reference to WeChat and being fan-driven. In 2020, 360 million users read articles published on WeChat public accounts. Self-publishers have always had to make sure they don’t attract the attention of Chinese censors. A regulation published January 22nd by the Cyberspace Administration of China requires accounts that “provide online news service to the public shall obtain the Internet News Information Permit and other relevant media accreditation.”
